This glove can be worn by people who cannot speak and it can help them to communicate by translating their gestures from sign language to verbal. This device could convert the sign language into voice thereby making the process simpler.

Smart glove schematic. Download. Basically it's a normal glove contains a gyroscope, accelerometer and flexible sensor in each finger.Exampleif I want to start a fan then a command is sent to the receiver end by the microcontroller with the help of RF module and the fan is easily controlled by the corresponding gestures.

By comparing all this existing methods here we are proposing a new method “SMART GLOVE” by using Arduino with sign language recognition system. It works by recognizing the gestures made by hand with help of flex sensors placed on fingers, flex sensor varies its resistance based on how much a finger is bent and that resistance is sensed by the Arduino and based on the amount of resistance of each sensor, it prints the letter of the gesture on serial monitor.

Based on the data from the flex sensors, Arduino can classify the sign and convert it to either text or speech. Along with the flex sensor, accelerometer is.For every particular gesture, there is specific digital output and that digital output for the specific gesture is reserved for a specific message.
